Redskins reportedly interested in Briggs, Berrian

| 44 Comments | No TrackBacks

Word out of Washington is the Redskins could be interested in Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs ... again.

The Redskins swung and missed angling for Briggs last March when the Bears declined to trade the linebacker and the 31st overall pick in the draft for the No. 6 pick which GM Jerry Angelo would have used to select LSU safety LaRon Landry. Rumors are that the Bears tried to get Washington to add linebacker Rocky McIntosh to the deal but the Redskins balked.

Briggs will become an unrestricted free agent March 1, and the Washington Post reports the Redskins could be targeting him and Bears wide receiver Bernard Berrian. Of course, that’s after Washington clears up its salary-cap situation. The Bears are in a strong position in terms of the cap.

How is it that the Redskins can afford Briggs the way they throw money around and the Bears can't? It just seems as if some teams always get the guys they want or are able to resign the vets they want every time. the colts can resign bob sanders, even though they gave Freeney and manning big money already. the patriots got Moss and welker after their recivers were terrible last year. But the Bears can't resign Berrian, Briigs, or Brendan A? I get the feeling that the reason the Bears are always in such a strong cap position is because they are not pursuing "high-priced" free agents or resigning the players they have to have. But you have to pay to have the talent. the bears will pay good player decent money, for example people like vasher and Tillman. But when it come to signing Briggs market value they shy away. And because of this the defense will be the lesser and everyone knows it. What will angelo do with the money? My guess is that he will use it as positions like O line and R back to bring in some decent vets who increase the competiton and provide depth and some stability But will they be bold choices that remake this team and get them back to the Sbowl? Choices like the Patriots in getting Moss? does anyone believe that about Angelo?

would jake scott and floyd womack in FA be asking too much after having a draft like this one...I'd like to keep Ruben Brown...I'm just sayin

1. jonathan stewart
2. Carl Nicks
3. Mike McGlynn
3. Tom Zbikowski
4. Paul Hubbard
5. Kevin O Connel
6. Maurice Murray
7.

It all starts with the Oline!! would tom brady be as good as he is without having time to call his wife before each throw??? give rex a GREAT Oline and lets pray for a miracle...

Hitman,

Floyd Womack. No way. The Bears already have one turnsile in Fred Miller and now you want Floyd Womack?

Zbikowski- No way. Stick with Boxing. Too slow another Archuleta.

Jake Scott- Go for it. I would not mind that signing.

Keep Berrian and cut Moose. Moose is the Ben Wallace of the Bears. I can not stand the guy. All he does is talk. 40 catches is pathetic.

Draft Jake Long and trade for FargaS ( Huggie Jr).If the Bears trade for Fargas they then should go for Dynamite. The Bears then would really be pimpin.

PS Bring in Jerome from Martin as our Wide Receiver because he got the gangster lean

It simple the bears never will win another Super Bowl because the team is to cheap to do what it takes> And thats a shame for one of the best cities in the country that supports its FOOTBALL. Why dont they just sell the team to someone that wants to bring a championship team to Chicago>

Don't let Joe Gibbs do it again! He stole Wilbur Marshall after the 85 season. Lance Briggs, we need him!

I think we have to let Briggs go. Jamar Williams will fill in nicely. The 'cover two' makes stars out of average-good players and Briggs won't be worth the money it would take to keep him.'

They need to re-sign Berrian and then go and sign Alan Faneca to play guard and draft a left tackle in the first round. Then move Tait back to the right side where he was an All Pro. And then, here's the big money, sign Michael Turner to be their feature back. He's the beast the Bears thought they were getting with Benson. The second round choice should be a safety. Bring back REx and then RUN the ball 55% of the time!

The biggest mistake the Bears made was trading away Thomas Jones. Having the one-two punch combo at RB was the key to their success last season. It kept opposing teams defenses in check which made it easier to throw for Rex, (at times). Bow that they've lost that teams just aren't as hesitant to put two men on one receiver anymore.

They need to get a good QB and keep Berrian and Briggs; but they wont because they indeed are cheap. Focus on the O-Line, Sign a good QB and WR; get rid of Benson and the defense will do their thing.

Guys it's a simple as the ownership making money hand over fist and not putting the money on the field. McKaskes please sell the Bears to an owner that doesn't hire a first year coach(s)/GM (Wannie/Lovie/Jauron/Shoop). You know why the McKaskey's do this guys-save money to buy their kids more silver spoons. This is a blue collar city that should not put up with this crap ! C'mon who are they crapping-remember Wilbur Marshall-Todd Bell-these are old school players but do you see the pattern.Too cheap to sign the best coaches-management-AND way too cheap to sign their own players, let alone give up on draft BUSTS !.McKaskeys are throwing their money out the window with their current GM.I guess they can't see these bad draft picks are sucking them dry ! They give the higher priced player the position over the better player-not just Benson either-they have done this before. This organization is an emBEAResment ! I am a big Bears fan but I am only giving this disaster one more year ! No more money from me McKaskeys.

Bears always have someone that other teams covet. Turn that around: who do they see out there that THEY could use? Can't stand pat and hope the next draft has a Sayers in it; not gonna happen. The Archuleta Experiment is over, sadly. Cedric should be playing in Texas next year, but GM is gonna give him one more shot, so we are stuck with more of the same. Three yards and a cloud of dust!

Bears can't keep rebuilding with untested college players and the crapshoot that entails. Priority One: beef up the O-Line. A mediocre back looks good behind a great line; the converse has never been true........no great back can survive without help.

By my reckoning, the SB window is closed for now; we can't even win the division, so gonna be tuff sledding for next couple of grin and Bear-IT years. I endured Avellini, Bobby Douglas et al years, so used to a down year.

I guess when Mike Brown went down early, it was a sign of things to come.

Fan since 1954.

THOMAS JONES? REALLY? HOW DID THE JETS DO THIS YEAR?

resign briggs and berrian at market price if you can. doubtfull either will be back unless bears use tag on berrian. so use the money on mcnabb. instant credibility. need bashing strong safety very badly. d. manning and tillman should switch positions. line hester up in shotgun. too many d.e.'s,use anderson and a #2 in the mcnabb deal. need a top d.t. to go with harris. get benson some legitemate competition. still need a #1 w.r.even with berrian and hester. rebuild o-line with mid round picks and free agents over the next 2 - 3 years.
pretty big wish list.

Should have traded Briggs when you had the chance, Great player however, Screwed Alex Brown, shame on you. Had the 4th pick in the draft and blew it, Picked up Adam A. and let go of Chris Harris, real savy move there. Put themselves in a position of not being able to hang on to Tank Johnson, Go Tank, I actually believe sooner or later one player will truly try to redeem himself. Go ahead and talk about the night out in which he was stopped, the Kid was not drunk, Throw stones America, at the sinners. Rex, I kicked him off my fantasy team in week three, changed my team name from Papa Halas to Papa Sucks and won the championship this year for the first time. So... Watch my orginization ruin him. I dumped him because of bad coaching, very medicore performance from O-line, no running game-which is not all Cedric's fault folks, No picking up the blitz by anyone. I pray that Rex moves on and performs admirably elsewhere. Why? Accountablity starts from the top! McKaskey on the sideline in New Orleans in 1985? Get off my team Buddy! You know squat about the NFL, People and life in general. Wow that was pretty harsh of me, Oh Well, gotta go to work!

Let Briggs and Berrian go. Briggs will cost more than he is worth even if he is a great player as even an average LB can look good in a cover2. Berrian has too many drops and doesn't block well in the running game. With Moose, Bradley, Hester, and Davis we are still well stocked at WR. We need another RB even if Benson is the featured back.
It is a must to improve the offensive line. They did not do well in blitz pick up or down field blocking. It doesn't matter who you have in the backfield if they don't have time to throw or holes to run through.

Backs can't run without a good O Line. QB's can't be effective without a good O Line. Injuries hurt the "D" and................ Did anyone notice all the dropped passes? Not the QB's fault! Hit them in the hands and they DROP the pass! I'm NOT sold on Berrian either. Fix the O Line. Get receivers that can actually catch the ball and continue to develop Hester. Gibbs Just resigned so how will this affect the Skins going after Briggs & Berrian ?

ricky d, you're an idiot. Just because the Jets sucked, Thomas Jones would have made the Bears worse? Good logic, now go back to fingerpainting in kindergarten.

Lots of good comments today. I think resigning both would be great but would like to see legitimate competition for Berrian. Bradley and Hester are as fast or faster and maybe would not drop so many passes in key situations. I'm not sure Berrian is a winner, but Briggs certainly is. Hester already is, and Bradley looks to me to have great potential.

Floyd Womack at guard...not tackle, Paul

The Bears are cheap. They are the second largest market in the NFL next to New York. They can sign ANYONE they want.

That said the big money needs to be spent on bringing Faneca from the Steelers here. He's gonna command Steve Hutchinson like money but he'll be worth it.

Bear trainees are the problem! Lovie(Sleepy)Smith and Angelo had no prior experience in their poesent positions! They were cheap hires which is very evident today!

Sleepy Smith said that he was pleased that the "D" ended the season with two good games! Obviously Sleepy Smith DID NOT see that the "D" gave up 10,000 yards rushing in the last two games!

Angelo's neglect left the offense with only one viable back up on the OL. Sleepy didn't notice that problem! He was too busy wasting the preseason workouts! His two pets the Gimp Grossman & Anderson were given jobs that they did not earn!

Jet fan here

You can have TJ back for your 2nd rounder.

Most unimpressive 1,000 yards I have ever witnessed. Hard working player, and didn't have a good OL to run behind, but it appears he needed to stop everytime he wanted to change direction.

I just wanted to re-post what bbiggie posted because it's worth saying twice. bbiggie: Well said! Lets pray that the Bears take this route. Rex isn't the best, but he is a big-time play-action passer and needs the O-Line and RB to be successful. Turner and Faneca grouped with a Tait shift to the right...brilliant!

Anyways, thanks for the wisdom. Let's hope Jerry reads the Blogs.

For the rest of you, read below (or the original post above) and realize that this is the best the Bears can do.

bbiggie:

Hey bbiggie, do your homework before you comment. Wilber Marshall did not leave after the 1985 season. He left the Bears after the 1987 season. And by the way, he was a bust for most of his career with the Redskins and was pretty much a bust with Houston and Arizona after that.

Let Briggs and Berrian go. Restock the offensive line with the money. Add another running back, drop Griese, Benson and Muhammed. Keep Grossman as the older gunner, would be better than Griese, pick a QB in the draft. Get younger and better options receiver and defensive tackle and safety(draft)?

The Bears are cheap. The owners will not sell the team. There is nothing you can do about it other than don't go to, or watch the games; and people are not wiling to do that. So live with it.

Berrien is a sissy just look at how he played during his contract year! The guy was allegedly giving it his all this year and he is muffing blocks that deny touchdowns not contesting interceptions running bad routes dropping passes left and right... He has talent sure no denying but he is a wuss at best he plays with zero heart. Moose sucks but atleast he tries... Berrien actually thinks he is a top 10 reciever and wants to be paid accordingly. Hello you wouldn't even be top 3 on like 4 or 5 teams(Patriots, Bengals, Colts...)!!! LOL...

Briggs is a product of a system and should be traded or let walk away. He is not an impact player no sacks no picks he racks up tackles do to the fact that he plays the unblocked LB spot. We made stars out of Colvin and Holdman and Holdman I haven't heard about in quite a while. Plus I really liked what I saw from Jamar Williams he would be a fine replacement.

Spend money on Fanaca and Turner (no relation to the tard bros). Draft a Tackle in the first round and a Safety in the second round. I would also consider Malouga the USC LB he is a beast!

I agree with Dean and Da Bears regarding Berrian and Briggs. Both of them will go in the tank as soon as they get their big payday.

Briggs is as good as gone. The guy is going to command high dollar because he can and he thinks he's worth it. Understandable. However, is he half as good without Urlacher and some good defensive tackle play? Remains to be seen. I would like to keep Berrian, only because if we're going to go after a QB they are going to need someone to throw to ... no free agent QB is going to consider coming here if they have Moose, Olson and Hester to throw to. Plus, they need to address the O-Line in the draft. Need a tackle and a guard (if not two).

If I was Angelo I would try to go after Fred Taylor or Michael Turner from San Diego ... the latter preferably. We need someone to come in here and kick Benson's butt and show him that being lazy and falling down while running is not going to win you a starting job. He was a starter here by default and I couldn't have been happier when the dude went down with an injury. Yes, you can say a healthy and mobile offensive line would have helped him, but honestly, the guy runs with zero urgency.

Need to lock up a safety in the draft. Brown is a liability and Archuleta absolutely sucks at football. Would also be nice to keep Alex Brown, although he is pretty unhappy here after being snubbed for Mark Anderson, who looks like he may go the way of Jevon Kearse and become a nothing and a "whatever happened to..." Angelo has a ton of work to do and he needs to make moves early and often ...

However, I sense that he will go after Andre Woodson in the draft and completely screw this team before it even gets on the field for training camp.

Will the 'Skins take Archuleta back too?

OK OK OK THE MASTER IS HERE!!! FIRST OFF TOM ZIBIKOWSKI FROM NOTRE DAMN WAS A GREAT QB AT BUFFALO GROVE HIGHSCHOOL AND HAS "WORLD CLASS OLYMPIC SPEED" SO HE IS WAYYYYYYY BETTER THAN ARCHUELTA AND HE'S A BOXER SO HE BRINGS TOUGHNESS!!!! BUT I DON'T THINK THE BEARS WILL GET HIM, HOWEVER I THOUGHT I SHOULD MENTION THIS.

GOING FORWARD I WILL NOT DISCUSS WHAT THE BEARS SHOULD'VE OF DONE IN THE PAST, BECAUSE WELL.....IT'S THE PAST. WE CAN NOT DWELL ON THE PAST ONLY FOCUS ON THE FUTURE SO WITH THAT BEING SAID LET ME BREAK DOWN MY VIEWS WITH MY FELLOW DIE HARD BEARS FANS!!

FIRST OFF BRIGGS????? COLVIN, HOLDMAN, ANYONE ELSE PLAYS NEXT TO "THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE" WILL LOOK GREAT, BRIGGS ACTUALLY DOESN'T HAVE THAT GAME CHANGING ASPECT THAT WE BEARS FANS NEED. LOOK AT HUNTER....HE'S ON THE STARTING QUAD?? WHO IS HE??? YET HE QUIETLY PUTS UP NUMBERS AND MAKES THE SYSTEM WORK.

JAMAR WILLIAMS IS AN EXCELLENT REPLACEMENT AND WILL COST LESS AND YES HE'S FROM THE SAME COLLEGE. HE LOOKS TO HIT HARDER AND PLAYS WITH HIGH INTENSITY. I LIKE JAMAR TAKING OVER BRIGGS SPOT.

BERRIAN?? COME ON GUYS....HE'S FAST YES....HE'S NO OWENS OR MOSS. LET'S LET HIM GO AND SAVE MONEY. WE HAVE BRADLEY AND HASS, ALONG WITH MOOSE AND OLSEN. WE CAN DRAFT A WR, WE'LL BE OK WITHOUT BERRIAN.

WITH THOSE 2 GUYS MENTIONED ABOVE AS BEING ARE 2 BIGGEST NEEDS TO COME BACK, WHEN WE HAD THEM THEY DIDN'T REALLY DO MUCH, SO HOW MUCH CAN WE REALLY SUFFER WITHOUT THEM. WE SAVE MONEY AND THE MONEY SAVED WILL BE EXPLAINED IN ABOUT 2 MINUTES.

CEDRIC?? HE'S REALLY GOOD, THE LINE MAY HAVE NOT PLAYED WELL, BUT WE'LL BRING IN ANOTHER GUY OF COURSE ALONG WITH WOLFE. PERHAPS DRAFTING A RB WITH THE FIRST PICK OVERALL??? MENDENALL?? THATS A STRETCH. I KNOW AN OFFENSE TACKLE SEEMS FEASIBLE HERE.

BOTTOM LINE IS WITH THE MONEY WE SAVE WE WILL SIGN SOME BIG TIME FREE AGENTS THAT WILL MAKE BRIGGS AND BERRIANS LOSSES SEEM PETTY. SIGNING SOMEONE LIKE TURNER AND FANECA WOULD EASILY MAKE US ALL FEEL BETTER GOING INTO THE NEW YEAR, BUT I DON'T REALL LIKE GETTING AN OLD GUARD IN FANECA. EVEN IF THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN WE'LL FOR SURE GET AT LEAST PATRICK CRAYTON AND A JULIUS JONES IN CHITOWN AT LOW COST.

GOING INTO THE DRAFT WE CAN FOCUS ON A GREAT SAFETY A GREAT RB AND A COULPE QB'S =)

THIS DRAFT WILL SOLIDIFY THAT THE BEARS KNOW HOW TO DRAFT. DON'T GIVE UP HOPE GUYS. WE PLAYED A ROUGH SCHEDULE WITH NO MIKE BROWN AND NO VASHER YET WE STAYED IN ALL THE GAMES UP 7 OR WITHIN 7 STARTING THE 4TH QUARTER. WE ENDED 7-9 A FEW GAMES IN OUR FAVOR WE COULD'VE EASILY HAD A 10+ WIN SEASON. DETROITS 4TH QUARTER LAPSE WAS HORRID FOR ONE.

WE CAN ALSO TRADE FOR A QB LIKE ANDERSON AND THAT COULD BE ALL WE NEED, WHO KNOWS?? BUT THE TRUTH IS WE CAN NOT CONTINUE GOING INTO A SEASON WITH NO QB. REX IS TOO SMALL, GREASE BALL IS OLD AND ORTON MAY SERVE AS A SOLID 2ND STRINGER. WE WILL WIN THE SUPERBOWL IN 08.

The Bears should let Briggs go get his big payday and let some other team overpay for his services, Jamar Williams will do just fine as a matter of fact he did in his two starts this year. The same for Berrian, but if the Bears slap the old tag on Berrian I'll live with it. And yes the Bears should use the money they were going to overpay Briggs with and sign Turner the Burner. As far as the QB sitution I think the Bears should stick with Kyle Orton, he led us on our only two game winning streak this season. I like Ortons potential, he has a big arm and I noticed he got better every game. Ortons numbers would have been better if not for all the drops by the wideouts also. I say keep Griese as a backup and somebody to work with the rookie the Bears bring in. In the first rd the Bears should take Pitt's Jeff Otah this guy will be a great left tackle for the Bears also he played good vs good opponents like Chris Long who will be a first rd pick himself. With Otah at LT move in Josh Beekman into LG Tait to RT and the line should be stronger and younger. As far as drafting a QB the Bears should use there 2nd or 3rd pick on Michigans Chad Henne or Delawares Joe Flacco. GO BEARS.

Hardy Nickerson was our LB's coach? Couldn't tell! I thought Urlacher was the LB coach and Def Coordinater! Bring back Rivera, let Briggs go, let Moose go, trade Benson, let Archuleta go, trade for Anderson or Mcnabb, get another safety like Donivon Darius for insurance, pick up a WR in fre agency, give Bradley a real shot, resign Berrian and give him a can of stick um', draft Smith from Central Florida at RB or get Jones from Arkansas, grab another free agent corner for insurance, and OT and gaurd, Def line will be fine when Dusty comes back, definately resign Brendon Ayenbedajo and lock up Hester, and were set for the next 2 years, when Urlacher and the rest of them fizzle out, we only have a few years left with the core for a shot at the bowl, just do it Angelo!

First time blogger as I think most bloggers need a hobby, or at a minimum, need to learn how to spell. At 62 years of age I have to agree with the people who want to do the following:
> let Briggs go and give Jamar Williams a chance
> draft a left tackle with the 15th pick and move Tait to R.T.
> sign Franca in free agency
> sign Michael, the burner, Turner if there is cap space or draft
a R.B. in round 2.
> in round three draft a C.B. and move Tillman to safety
> draft a W.R. with the 2nd pick in the 3nd round,

then convince the McCaskeys to sell the team so the children don't end up hating each other deciding what to do with their most valuable asset when faced with that decision.

ISAAC I Love you! I am over here in Iraq and I was having a bad day before I read your email. I totally agree. Let Brigss go although I would have Likeed to get something for him, but oh well. I think Turner would be the smart move. I would hate to see Benson go somewhere else and be a beast after hes gotten most of his money. I don't really like getting older offensive lineman either. Because in a couple of years people will say Faneca is old. Berrian is the 2007 Willie Gault. Moose should take Gilmore spot as a TE (yes he is that slow). Try moving Anderson to LB. He is big and fast maybe a Demarcus Ware type. I would look hard at Stewart(RB)Oregon. I really believe Orton, Bradley can play they just need a chance. Maybe get faster on defense Hillenmeyor should be on special teams. Give me a LB with a little more speed and aggression and we will be okay. Briggs is solid, but we need a LB that creates havoc, and Briggs is not him. Lastly if we can't find another DT or more speed go to a damn 3-4. That cover 2 only works when you have the Personnel. Once again I think Anderson would make an excellent LB if he can learn the position. Then I bet he would make the Pro Bowl!

Seriously? People think getting rid of Berrian and Briggs and bringing in Michael Turner and Alan Faneca will make us better? Turner is a system back in San Diego, he comes in after LT has worn everyone down and then pounces on the tired D. Hes tougher than Benson? How do we know, he has yet to take 300 carries in a season. This pains me to say but the Bears should go the way of the Packers, find a young back who has some limited experience whose been cut and sign him on the cheap. Secondly, how about URlacher losing 30-40 lbs and moving to safety and bringing in a whole new group of linebackers, the weight loss will help his back + solve the safety problem. We need speed guys not hillenmeyers, hed be a great special teams player on a good team, not a starting linebacker. Then the Bears need to draft an OT,DT,LB,S,OG,LB,RB in that order with there draft picks. Finally play the Hass kid, every receiver to come out of Oregon State has been a baller and he had the best stats of them all, give the kid a shot as a slot receiver.

The Bears need to rid themselves of both Briggs and Berrian. Although Briggs is a pro-blow linebacker, (we already have one) the dollars needed to keep him could be used to lure some outstanding talent at another position. The Bears did not have a losing season because of its linebacking. They lost because they could not move the ball and score points, so if it is an O-lineman, RB (try Chester Taylor- Vikings) or QB. They need to improve on offense. As for Berrian other than his ability to stretch the field, I do not see any reason to give him superstar money. "Is he really a top 10 receiver in the NFL"? I do not think so and surely would not risk the dollars to find out.

here is what they should do.
*let briggs go, in this defense system we can fill in, (remember holdman ,colvin ) briggs is just product of system.
*let berrian go might be a problem so i would take him back unless some freagent is available like terry holt.
*we must take care of OLine in free agency (fanaca would be great)i do believe we need to adress this in the draft also 2nd or 3rd round.
*i like turner in FA at RB
*round 1 trade up or target jake long OL michigan move tait back to right side.
round 2 go after wide reciever like manningham michigan
round 3 DB or Safty need more depth in these later rounds we could also look at LB position next.. have a good day be back next week with more.....

Some of u guys got it right. Jery Angelo and most of all the McKaskeys aren't going to spend the money for Alan Fanecca.Or Burner Turner. But if thier not at least At Least KEEP Briggs!I dont think phillys gonna give up Mcnabb.I do think they will try to rebuild through the draft and it will be too late. They have a whole O-Line to replace next year if not this year!No RB,no QB,Need a Saftey,a DT,a LB,a CB,too many more too list.Outcome forget the bears winning unless its total luck or the McKaskeys sell the team! That aint gonna happen till Bears Fans Stop Supporting Them!!!

WILL THE BEARS FANS PLEASE PROTEST OUTSIDE HALLS HALL FOR A WEEKEND ? IT WOULD BE FUN.PLEASE ONE WEEKEND SOMEONE GET IT ORGANIZED!IF WE GOT 10 TO 20 THOUSAND FANS OUTSIDE OF HALLS HALL,THERE WOULD BE PRESS COVERAGE,AND THE MCKASKEYS WOULD THEN SEE IT!HOLD UP SIGNS LIKE,Dont Be Cheap Virginia!Or START SPENDING OUR MONEY ON FOOTBALL!Please, someone organize a protest someone anyone please.DO this and Jerry Riensdorff's house is next!!!

BRIGGS WILL ONLY BE SO SO AS FREE AGENT FOR TEAM THAT SIGNS HIM; OF COURSE UNLESS IT IS A TEAM LIKE THE PATRIOTS. BERRY-HIM, SUCKS, DIDN'T BLOCK, HAD THE DROPS, AND BOTH BRIGGS AND BERRIAN ARE WEST COAST GUYS. siGN NEW TALENT, VERY GOOD TALENT. bEARS NEED TO MIX IT UP A LITTLE, LOYALTY IS OUT, SO, START WHEELING AND DEALING. GUYS LIKE L.B. AND B.B ARE EASILY REPLACED, JUST ASK YOUR BOSS, YOUR EASILY REPLACED. DON'T DIE SO HARD, AS LONG AS OWNERS ARE WHOM THEY ARE, WE'RE DOOMED, OR DO NEED MIRACLES. BRING IN AN EDDIE D'BARTOLO, AND THEN WE'RE ROLLIN', CHA'GING,
EDDIE KNOWS HOW TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS ... TALK CHITOWN, SACK THE OWNERS, TIME FOR THEM TO GIVE IT UP FOR THE SAKE OF THE BEARS AND THEIR GRANDFATHER, AND FATHER. eVEN GEORGE WANTS YOU GUYS TO SELL ... DO IT WHILE THE TEAM IS GOOD TOO, BASICALLY THEY SIGLEHANDEDLY HAVE RUINED THE GREATEST FRANCHISE ON EARTH,
n.y. k.m.a.

At least try to keep Berrian and Briggs. Berrian has come up big in big games the last couple of seasons and he is a winner (just watch the '05 and '06 season playoff games again; he was money). Ditto with Briggs. He is a monster and belongs here. The likelihood of keeping both of them isn't good, but the Bears have to make a better effort. Both want to stay. Both are excellent players. There is a reason why they're at the top of the free agent heap for their positions.

Sign Michael Turner RIGHT FREAKING NOW...or at least at 12:01 on free agency day. Turner's and Benson's style would be an excellent 1-2 punch. Benson isn't a superstar, but he's very capable if the running game is working, which it didn't for anyone this year. Adrian Peterson (our Adrian) averaged 5 yards a carry before this year, but this year he plummeted to three. Dude, it wasn't Cedric.

Re-sign Rex, dump Griese, and open up the competition in training camp. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that Derek Anderson would not be a major upgrade over Grossman - and espcially not good enough to cost us two draft picks. Anderson isn't any more proven than Rex. In fact, Rex has shown more upside and flashes of brilliance than D. Anderson. With time to throw and a running game behind him, Rex is damn good. If you don't agree with that, you haven't been paying attention to football or anything related to it.

Give Alex Brown his job back. Draft and sign as many safeties as is humanly possible. Give the ball to Hester as much as possible; he scares the crap out of other teams.

Follow this prescription, and the Bears will kick everyone in the face next year. Go Bears.

Heres the Real scoop...
Mcnabb would be nice but who are we kidding?
what quarterback in their right mind would want to play behind our line! Never mind the fact that Mcnabb has ties in Minnesota, which is where he's headed, the only other quarterback available outside of the draft is Derrick Anderson... a bum thats not worth the first rounder the Browns would ask for! So heres where the Bears should look.... OCHO - CINCO!!! screw Berrian, and Briggs and use the cash on hand to trade for a credible still young and energized wide receiver! His attitude would fuel a bummed out superbowl losing team that we call the bears! who at this rate might be on the verge of changing their names to the bear cubs! Then use the draft picks we have, keep in mind we have the 14th pick and draft accordingly... DT, O-LINE, SAFETY and RB, but who am I kidding, I'm not Angelo, I'm actually a die hard Bears fan, who has shed plenty of sweat and blood defending the team I have no other choice but to criticize right now!
P.S.
Lovie isnt the problem, Turner is!!!

That's SAD the Times here doesn't even regonize the SEAHAWKS to be able to Beat the Peckards? Best Prediction - SEAHAWKS 37 Peckards 24

Whats up Chi-Town! I just have a few thing to say and i will go on my merry way. Briggs neads to go. Any team would want him and you can get so much for him. Forget the redskins. They dont have anybody we want. Go get WR Marshall and any linemen from denver! The point is you could get anybody for him. We dont need him. Also, in regards to berrian...He's no good. Dont resign him, are you out of your minds. Go draft Jay Rice from rutgers and Bess from Hawaii and get some toughness on the offense. I wish we could give kruetz some handoffs! Its not rocket science. If i know what to do, the Bears should no what to do! P.S Get your heads out of your butts Managment!!! Sincerly Papa Bear Halas
