With two games remaining on the schedule, the Bears are currently in position to own the 10th pick. They are tied with the Cincinnati Bengals at 5-9, but based on strength of schedule the Bengals would be in the slot ahead of them.
No. 10 would be the highest draft pick GM Jerry Angelo has used with the Bears with the exception of RB Cedric Benson, the fourth pick in 2005. The Bears held the No. 4 pick in 2003 before dealing it to the New York Jets.
The 10th pick this past April got the Houston Texans defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, the youngster from Louisville. He was the NFL defensive rookie of the month in September, and Okoye came at a price tag of $12.8 million guaranteed. The maximum value of his five-year deal is $17.6 million.
