Tuesday practice update: Vasher participating

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

Defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy’s arrival at practice Tuesday morning wasn’t the only news.

A nagging shoulder injury sidelined strong-side linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, who could miss a little more time this week. Cornerback Nathan Vasher got a visit from coach Lovie Smith during stretching drills, and he was participating in the workout in the Walter Payton Center.

Center Olin Kreutz and wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad got the practice off, as did defensive tackle Darwin Walker, who no longer has his left arm in a sling.

And quarterback Rex Grossman was moving around with just a slight limp and no knee brace. Grossman even played catch with Pep Hamilton before practice began.

More news later in the day.

I would like to see Kyle Orton succeed, but I realize with the lack of a running game and the poor play of the o-line it is going to be impossible for Orton to look really good. With that being said I hope that the coaching staff and Mr. Angelo realize that themselves. If Orton comes in these next three games and is smart with the ball and can start to develope and make some plays I would like to see the Bears stick with him. There is talk that the Bear are going to draft a QB that is not a bad idea but I don't think they need to use a 1st rd pick on one, the Bears have to many other needs that need to be addressed like o-tackle and runningback and besides Angelo and smith do not have time to develops another QB. I think Angelo should use his extra 3rd rd pick on Michigans Chad Henne, Henne has a strong arm and is very accurate and if it not been for the bum shoulder this season I think Henne might of snuck in the 1st rd but now he will fall and I think the Bears should snatch him up.

Gawd, the Bears again? They would probably be better off in drafting Sonny Six-Killer....

Well, the Mr. Orton experiment went for naught. Again, anyone starting to chant for Sonny Sixkiller to try out??????? Chico Rivera or Mike Singletary for Head Coach in 2008...
