To have to pay to watch a professional football game is just horrible. It may be even worse then the Chicago Bears football team of 2007. I find the following people responsible for the 2007 product(in no particular order). Lovie Smith: For staying with the ineffective Cover 2 Defense; for being so inflexible in changing running backs, quarterbacks and stone-fingered wide recievers; and allowing a "flat", unemotional team take the field weekly. Ron Turner and Bob Babich: For devising unimaginative, predictable game plans; conservative game play selection and failing to challenge their units to play 60 minutes. Jerry Angelo: For your poor draft selections and free agent aquisitions as well as your trades of Thomas Jones and Chris Harris.

Jim: You can't put the blame on just a few individuals. Smith at times seems to have the emotion and drive of a doorknob (curiously he can motivate his team when he wants to i.e. 1/2 time at Green Bay), but what's to be done when the defense misses tackles or the receivers drop balls or the o-line can't physically perform well? The same goes for Turner and Babich. Is it Turner's fault that Hester dropped a sure TD pass against the Giants setting off a domino effect of poor play later on? That was a great play that simply wasn't executed properly. What about the last drive false start penalty by John Tait? As for Angelo, you can't pick a winner every time. While some criticize him for poor draft selections or trades, what about his pick of Hester, Mark Anderson, Greg Olsen or Trumaine McBride just to name a few? And Rex is looking pretty good now. You can't blame the QB for his receiving corps constant drops. Jim, I share your frustration with the Bears like every fan, but while these guys you mentioned have erred, they are not solely responsible for our teams downfall.

You can't blame Turner for Hester dropping the pass, but you can blame him for not going to that play again. Hester beat his guy easily so the play should have been tried again. Run that play (Hester on the Fly) at least 5 times a game and we would get a couple of TDs out of it.
Babich's problem is running the cover-2 too often. Granted he is probably just following orders. Rivera mixed it up: Cover-2 about 25-30% of the time, 46 or other Defenses other times. That change of pace is why are D looke dso good and unforunately is probably why Rivera got canned. I blame Lovie for THAT!

Babich, Turner and Smith...do not deserve all the blame for this loss. But the blame is on one offensive lineman named "Metcalf". You keep your frustrations in check and no dumb decision making when your team is on the 3 yard line. Why do you have to knee a player (when he is down)after the whistles have stopped play. That was the turning point of the game. A touchdown and this is a different ball game. No. We settle for the field goal (again)and we lose by 4. Lovie benches an Archuletta and Miller, but keeps a player in the game after he demonstrates that he cannot restrain his ridiculous emotions. Also, opposing teams have a great strategy by not kicking to Hester and giving the ball to the Bears at the 40 or 45 yard line because we have a tendency not get it past midfield anyway!

I am a Bears fan for a long time. After watched the Bears game VS Giant.I think the Bears who they thought they were. NewYork Giant played smart enough to eliminate the Bears for playoff hope...NO DEFENSE and OFFENSE. They need new coordinators...

Would you like him to draft a whole new team of players every week? Maybe he should stomp on their toes before every game, just to get the emotions going. Or would you prefer that the team joins a miming school in the off-season so that Griese can mime his disappointment after every endzone interception?

I think Lovie has no love for Green Bay and thats a good thing,
at least we know the guys will be jacked for that game.

Now if he can put that energy in the rest of the season and finish strong.
