As expected, the Bears went ahead and placed CB Nathan Vasher (groin) on injured reserve Thursday morning and signed WR Brandon Rideau to the 53-man roster.
RIdeau was on the practice squad almost all last season and looked to have the inside track for the No. 6 receiver job before he hurt his right ankle in the third preseason game. He's an intriguing prospect with a 6-3, 200-pound frame.
