Orton serving as No. 2 QB

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

Kyle Orton will serve as the No. 2 quarterback for the first time since the playoffs following the 2005 season.

Brian Griese, who suffered a minor sprain of the AC joint in his non-throwing left shoulder, has been moved down to No. 3. Griese practiced some on Wednesday and participated in all of Friday's workout, but the call went to Orton.

Also inactive for the Bears are:

WR Mark Bradley -- You wonder if the former second-round pick will ever make an impact

CB Nathan Vasher -- This is the seventh consecutive game he has missed. At this point, conditioning has to be such an issue that it's debatable if he could play vs. Denver even if he practices all next week. Soon, injured reserve will have to be a real possibility with his groin pull.

FB Lousaka Polite -- It would be nice to get a chance to see what he can do before the season is over

S Josh Gattis -- Just not enough special teams spots for him.

LB Darrell McClover -- The special teams maven from last season hasn't gotten many chances this season.

G/C Josh Beekman -- He's already behind Anthony Oakley, who spent the first half of the season on the practice squad. Oakley takes the spot of Bradley on the active roster today.

WR Mike Hass -- Many wonder why he doesn't get a chance. If Rashied Davis is hardly involved, how could Hass make an impact.

Seattle inactives:

RB Shaun Alexander
S C.J. Wallace
LB Will Herring
G Mansfield Wrotto
T Ray Willis
WR Courtney Taylor
DE Baraka Atkins
Third QB Charlie Frye

If this season is over, when are they going to use Garret Wolfe
to fin do ut what he can or can't do??

You made him a #3 pick and have not used him. The running attack stinks, what have you got to lose to put some life in this bunch
and give him some carries??

yeah, Kyle needs to practice fumbling snaps or not protecting the football while running so that the game can end early for the tired defense and tired Bear Fans. With enough fumbles he is sure to become number One with Halas Hall.

They should put Tommie Harris on IR before they mess him up for life,
Don`t keep running the man out there.
We all know its a contract year, pay the man don`t kill him.

What happen to Kyle Orton? Did the coaching staff forget about him? He was doing a decent job before Rex return from his injury. So why not give him a chance.
