Friday practice update: Vasher working for 3rd straight day

Cornerback Nathan Vasher was suited up for practice for the third consecutive day at Halas Hall, improving the chances further he will play Sunday for the first time in more than two months. Vasher has been working his way back from a partially torn groin muscle.

Right tackle Fred Miller (right ankle) was also on the practice field for the first time this week. Miller has been remarkable during his career as a durable performer. He has missed just one start since the beginning of the 1999 season because of injury, and just two since the start of the 1998 season.

UPDATING: While Miller was on the field, he was held out od drills. John St. Clair is expected to start in his place.

Linebacker Lance Briggs (knee) was also present for practice. Defensive tackle Tommie Harris (left knee) was on the field but it was not certain whether he would be participating.

UPDATING:
Harris was held out of practice but is expected to play.

Check back later today for more details.

Hey, all you wagon jumpers!!!! Last year, you were scrambling to jump on. Now this year, everyone for the most part, are ditching... Can we all have a collective sigh here, please? In 3 weeks, the Bears will be gone. Every columnist will write what Rex did wrong, and what Griese did right, as well as blame Urlacher's press boycott. My God. Anyone who thought a coach named 'Lovie' could make a dynasty should be ashamed of themselves. This is no meant disrespect to Lovie. He is a good coordinator, and he should stay there. I would love psuedo-god, Jerry Angelo to swallow his pride, and get Ron Rivera back here as Head Coach? Or jeez, how about Glenn Kozlowski? Or Singletary???? We need fire in this team, not calm demeanors. As of right now, the Bears would have difficulty beating the Dol'finks'. I am starting a campaign to get Mr. Smith axed. I want a Ron, or a Mike, or a Glenn at head coach. Oh, to see someone with intense pride to rip into the media guessers....
