Anderson fined five large

Jon Kitna was wrong, indeed.

The Detroit Lions quarterback lashed out at Alex Brown earlier this week accusing the Bears defensive end of a big twist on his facemask during last Sunday's game at Soldier Field. Brown told the Sun-Times he had no business in such activity.

In fact, Brown offered up that it was teammate Mark Anderson who has pulled Kitna's facemask.

The NFL agreed with his assessment of the sack in the first quarter, slapping Anderson with a $5,000 fine for unnecessary roughness. It's unknown if Anderson will appeal the fine.

So, Kitna has something else to backtrack on. He already apologized for hitting teammate Mike Furrey's charity Halloween party on Monday with his wife. His wife dressed as a drive-thru fast food attendant and Kitna had a naked outfit, poking fun at Lions assistant coach Joe Cullen. Cullen was charged with obscene conduct last summer when he went through a Wendy's drive-thru naked. Cullen was also charged with drunken driving in a separate incident.

Brown was originally credited with a sack on the play. Upon league review, it was shared and he and Anderson were each given a half-sack.
