Brandon McGowan's performance at Detroit last week when he led the team with 13 tackles probably played a factor in the reworked secondary.
He is slated to start at free safety, the fifth start of his career. McGowan started last week at strong safety when Adam Archuleta missed the game with a broken right hand.
Archuleta will return to strong safety. Charles Tillman will start at left cornerback and Danieal Manning is expected to start at right cornerback, making Ricky Manning Jr. the odd man out in the base package.
Manning Jr. figures to play a ton, though, with the Packers expected to be in a lot of three wide.

Danieal Manning was just brutal as a corner in the first half. I know the Bears struggled as a whole that half, but his performance was especially egregious. The Bears are lucky that Green Bay apparently forget he couldn't stop anyone.
