Help available: Ian Scott

Provided his balky left knee is healed up, ex-Bear Ian Scott is free to sign with another team now.

Scott had knee problems when he was with the Bears, undergoing arthroscopic surgery in August 2006, and lingering issues kept him from ever competing for a job with this Sunday’s opponent, the Eagles.

Philadelphia placed him on the waived/injured list Sept. 2, and being on minor injured reserve meant he had to wait until Week 7 to sign elsewhere.

Scott made a career-high 44 tackles in 2004, but was never a great fit for Lovie Smith's scheme as he was drafted in 2003 for the Dick Jauron regime. Scott hoped to do well in free agency, and flirted with a handful of teams including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Denver, Kansas City, Minnesota and New England, but never got a big offer. He wound up going to the Eagles in a one-year deal that included a $350,000 signing bonus.

Ha! The whole world saw Ian Scott during last years Superbowl game. Even in a pouring rain on natural grass, his uniform was a sparkling clean after the game as before. 'Nuff said.

Not sure if he's still available at this point, but the d-line looks like it could use all the help it can get right now. Not a great player but always seemed to be a pretty good run stopper. With Tommy still nursing injurys and other guys out with injury, I think we could use him.
