I've received a handful of e-mails about whether or not suspended DT Tank Johnson can actually help the Dallas Cowboys this week in their preparation to face the Bears at Soldier Field.
Yes, just as much as practice squad OLB Khari Long can. Long, after all, was with the Bears last summer before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in the preseason opener at San Francisco. The Bears were using him as a DE.
The idea that Tank can shed real light on the Bears' schemes and their playbook is a little far-fetched. Only if the Cowboys have yet to turn on game tape of the Bears and do any actual scouting. We know that's not the case. The calls have changed, the defensive coordinator has changed, and Tank wasn't a student of the defense when he was here.
