On the same day that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is talking in Springfield, Gov. Pat Quinn announced Lafarge North America is investing approximately $10 million to move its headquarters from Virginia to Illinois. Wisconsin was said to be angling for the headquarters itself. Walker, who has talked about luring businesses from Illinois to Wisconsin, was invited by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to speak to business leaders. More than 1,000 union members showed up to protest. More protesters are expected in Michigan later when Walker flies there after the speech at a GOP fund-raiser.
