What should be up first for the President?

I hope President Obama will try to do something with the economy first.I have been layed off work 4 times since last year and currently since october 31.I,like many others,am barely hanging on.The worst thing for me is the feeling of failing my family.This is a burden no parent should have to bear,even if it's beyond our control

Well, where do I start? I am a 26 year old white, irish catholic, union worker from the south side of chicago. Watching the Inauguration coverage I was proud to have voted for Obama. That hasn't changed but I was offended by a couple of things. One in particular. I read the entire paper already this morning and didn't see one mention of it either. I was highly offended with the Benediction given by Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery. I quote " And in the joy of a new beginning we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead man, and when white will embrace what is right. Let all those who'll do justice and love mercy say Amen." I'm sorry isn't this still just as divisive as what's been going on in our past? This is a Prayer??? Why was every color being associated with heading in a positive direction or place, except us whites? like its all our fault. Guess what some of us whites must have long ago "embraced what is right" or you wouldn't be standing there nor would the obamas. It amazes me that obama was the leading vote-getter in a variety of white demographics yet the Rev. Dr. James Lowery felt the need to call to the lord to ask for help in working towards the day when "white will embrace what is right". I believe that day has already come, today obviously. Maybe MSNBC is using a trick camera but all the shots of the crowd I'm seeing has many different races standing there united and smiling or crying joyfully TOGETHER.I would not have been offended if he was offering thanks for that day being here. This was supposed to be a day of positivity. I'm not saying racism is dead, far from it, but I am starting to believe the only minority left in this country are the racist' and bigots. I am not deeming the Rev. Lowery a bad person, I'm sure he's done great things, or racist just someone who I feel made a poor choice of words on a national stage. Almost as offensive is the fact that not one person has made mention of it. Now for what I believe Obama needs to do first. I believe the economy is priority 1A and the war is 1B. The end of 1B the war will definitely have its the effects on our economy. I feel that this war has become so privatized and were spending so much money on government contracts and thats a huge drain on our economy. However this should be a long term goal. We tore these peoples lives apart. We cant sneak out the back door without helping them rebuild their lives, government, and physical structures. That being said I found the whole Inauguration offenseful because the state of our economy. Which in no uncertain way was or is Obama's fault. One of the changes promised to us was government reform. The elitest and fat cats on capital hill will be made to answer for budgeted luxuries and so on... Well then I hope this is the last display of its kind. I don't even want to venture a guess at the overall cost of the festivities were but one thing is for certain it would have been better spent injecting it into our economy in any other way, shape, or form. Living in Chicago with these frigid temps forces me to wonder how many homeless shelters could have been built with that money. I forgot where I've heard this before but it is very true, You can tell a lot about a society by the way it treats its worst off!! This display of elitest arrogance from a group of people that sat back and chastized CEO's of the big three for chartering flights instead of flying commercially while coming to ask for a handout. Which I absolutely agreed with by the way. Then gave them the money and have not stepped in for the unfortunate UNION auto workers who are being forced to make concessions in wages. Trust me its not the people at the bottom or middle that need the paycuts. We've never gotten million dollar quota bonuses. We're living check to check. Which implies were at least putting it back into the economy on those luxuries such as food and clothes not to mention heat for our families. The majority of us cant afford to go on family vacations to europe. So where do we go? u guessed somewhere in the U.S. again stimulating the economy. Go ahead and let them keep cutting from the middle and bottom and unions and see where we end up! The other part of this whole thing that offends me is the fact that We The People who's dime this is all taking place are encouraging it. Obamas whole speech was a call to us the gen. pop to start cutting back and working harder. When is the government going to stop blowing our hard earned money on fancy balls and luxuries?? Now that I'm done with my George Carlinesque(R I P)rant ,minus the humor and 7 dirty words, good luck and make us proud to have trusted you President Barack Obama!

Well He Should Get on the Econemy because we are in a bad shape so he should get to work the take car of something else.

Obama's priority should be JOBS For All American families.'disabled veterans and poor families living at or below the poverty line deserve the opportunity for "...the pursuit of happiness".

One of the things President Obama should make a priority is to apologize to Jesse White for not backing him up when the Secretary needed him. It appeared more that the President did not want to confront the issue because it was too "HOT". Mr. White is a man that stood by his word in not signing nor approving the appointment made by our "Boy Governor" and the Democrats threw him to the wolves. President Obama, there is nothing worth more in today's world than a man's word. Mr. White proved he has "Grit", I hope someday you will too.

Obama will first stall for time. Obama is NOT a Messiah and cannot deliver on his campaign rhetoric. The Hopium Eaters are hung over from bathing far too long in symbolic waters ever since the election and a rude epiphany awaits them as their hangovers wear off. Perhaps Obama will follow Daley's lead and sell off the nation's treasures and assets at the PayDay Loan store and mortgage our grandchildrens' futures for 99 years.

I think we need to To Triple Tax All Imported goods that are coming into this country Let the Sender of theses products pay a huge tax.
Not the american people.
These company's relocated cause they were being taxed to death here in the states and it is cheaper to make there product else were with cheaper labor while america pays the price.
This could be turned around
Now we need to tax them so high on there products coming into the this country they can't afford to import it here.
Other companes would sure think twice about moving over seas.
I know more people out of work now than people that has a job the ones that due are hanging in by a thread.

He is single handly ruining this country. Many of his nominees and appointments are criminals. I hope he enjoys his $100/lb steaks while the rest of us are losing our wealth. Americans have lost trillions of dollars due to his spending and stimulus plan.
