More women are taking their fate into their own hands by choosing to get double mastectomies when only one may be required or a less-invasive tumor removal is medically advised.
The rate of double breast removals has jumped 150 percent over a five-year period, according to research revealed by the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Researchers insist there's no medical benefit to double mastectomies, which women are choosing as a precautionary measure. Should women be taking their lives into their own hands to this extent?
