We don't know his name. We don't know he died. He was abandoned in death, but he's not forgotten.
A toddler found dead more than two years ago was finally laid to rest this week in DuPage County. "Johnny Doe" was mourned by 150 strangers because no family member has come forward to claim him. Nobody has even reported him missing. His body was found inside a blue laundry bag on Oct. 8, 2005.
How can we live in a world where a child is so completely abandoned by his family?
The only solace found here is that the community came together to give him a proper burial.

I wish to comment on Monday's editoral about Indiana polluting Lake Michigan. Nowhere in the article did it mention Chicago putting RAW sewage into the lake, which is has done in the past and will again in the future.
It also stated that if Hoosiers drank the lake water we would pay more attention to what was put into the lake. Well, at least 1 million Hoosiers do drink lake water, starting with Hammond and all the cities and towns as far south as Dyer and north as the state of Michigan.
Please check your facts and put some of the blame on Illinois as well.
