Barack and Donnie

Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin's anti-gay crusade is one compelling reason why Barack Obama shouldn't have him on his "Embrace the Change Tour. Obama has a strong track record of promoting gay rights, if not gay marriage. Why allow the Rev. McClurkin, who sees spirituality as a way to "cure" homosexuality, to detract from his, Obama's, message?

There's another way McClurkin is at cross purposes with Obama. If the Illinois senator is so committed to change, to taking leave from the way the political establishment has done things in the past, why hook up with a performer who is something of a regular in the political arena, having performed on behalf of George W. Bush at the Republican National Convention in 2004 and sang with the Restoration Choir at the Democratic convention 12 years earlier? Surely, Obama can reach black evangelicals in the South, and other target voters who connect with the Grammy-winning singer, without recycling McClurkin and his objectionable views.

Why is it that Gays come after people who are doing nothing but exercising their rights? If Donnie is saying things that are "objectionable", then state them. And don't punish Obama for liking or receiving support from all kinds of Americans. Its ok to be Gay AAANNNDDD Straight. Now I guess its wrong to be straight huh? When Donnie does something to you or yours THEN go after him, but just don't get mad at him for his opinion. IT HAPPENS TO BE THE OPINION OF THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS. And don't go after poor Barak who just wants a vote man. He is more likely to help Gays than those republicans I bet you.

I think Obama running for president is a joke. First of all, he has no real experience behind him. I am black and one of the things that bothers me is that white liberals have always gotten off on the mixed racial issue which has kept American blacks intimadated and divided. And he constantly goes over his mixed ancestry like this affords him greater opportunity. Secondly, its my understanding that he was an instructor at
U of Chicago, not a professor. Most blacks are aware of the plantation politics there in regard to skin color.
