The 2010 volleyball season will tip off three weeks from Monday, so it is time to start identifying some of the top players in the Chicago area. Here is the first installment of the names being considered for the Sun-Times top 50 players in the area:

Good luck to new Providence Catholic head coach Rachel Ellingson, who succeeds Nan Airola, and Trisha Kurth, who takes over for Colleen Reagan at Downers Grove South. Airola retired after 37 years of teaching and coaching at Providence, while Reagan stepped down to spend more time with her family.

I liked your article. My daughters playes for ACC and is a good player. Hopefully her team will improve on their regional finals performance from last year.
I was curious though about your list. I did not see Meg Vonderhaur from St. Frances, Amelia Wegman from Rosary, or Ashley from ACC.

Do you have a e-mail address to send information on the players from our high school team?
