BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The Golden Globes telecast got the best of Jack Bauer on Monday night. In the ratings, that is. The Globes, on NBC, grabbed 20 million viewers, while Fox’s ‘‘24’’ pulled in 15.7 million. It was the second year in a row the awards show came out on top.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — It's been 45 years since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association pulled Warren Beatty from near obscurity, and presenter Tom Hanks wouldn't let anyone forget those years long ago. Beatty, who will be 70 on March 30, was presented the association's Cecil B. DeMille Award by Hanks for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment field."

LOS ANGELES — The Golden Globe gift basket is no more. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which presents the annual Golden Globe Awards, announced today that it had reached an agreement with the Internal Revenue Service to satisfy past tax obligations on the plush gift packages given to awards-show presenters. The end result: No such swag will be handed out at this year’s show, to be held Monday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, said HFPA president Philip Berk. ...
