BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is giving some lucky movie buffs the chance to see their favorite stars up close at the Oscars next year.

Beginning Sept. 17, fans can enter an online lottery for a chance to win one of 300 available bleacher seats along the 500-foot-long red carpet in front of Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre before the awards ceremony.

The lottery will be open for one week, with winners being chosen at random on Sept. 24.
The 80th Academy Awards ceremony will be held Feb. 24.
