LOS ANGELES — With five nominations, including best pop artist, best solo artist and artist of the year, Mexican star Belinda leads the list of nominees announced today for this year’s Premios MTV Latin America. Spain’s Alejandro Sanz and Argentina’s Babasonicos each follow with four nominations, while Division Minuscula, Julieta Venegas, Mana, Panda, Paulina Rubio, Gustavo Cerati, Miranda! and Kudai scored three each.

The awards show will air live in 24 countries from Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes on Oct. 18. It will also be shown on MTV2 and MTV Tr3s in the United States and on some non-cable channels in Latin America.

Hilary Duff, Avril Lavigne, Cafe Tacuba and the Cure are scheduled to perform on the program. Three new award categories have been added this year: ‘‘Fashionista Award,’’ for best dressed celebrity; ‘‘Best Urban Artist Award’’ for best R&B, rap, hip hop or reggaeton; and the ‘‘Influencia Award,’’ honoring an influential artist with a long career.
