The Grammy folks already are gearing up for next year's ceremony — the big 50th annual. On May 8, they have some kind of "special announcement" in the works, special enough that they've scheduled Quincy Jones and Joss Stone to make it early that morning at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Globes back to Sunday night in ’08

The Golden Globes, which have taken place on Monday for the past two years, are moving back to Sunday night. The 65th annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 13, by NBC at 7 p.m., the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. said Monday.

Underwood overwhelmed at CMT MUsic Awards

NASHVILLE — Carrie Underwood was the big winner at the 2007 CMT Music Awards Monday night at Belmont University’s Curb Event Center in Nashville, taking home video of the year and female awards for ‘‘Before He Cheats.’’ The former award was voted on by fans during the show. Meanwhile Roman White, who directed the video, took director of the year honors. ‘‘It was at CMT last year that I gave my very first acceptance speech,’’ Underwood told the audience. ‘‘It’s been an amazing last two years.’’ ...

LOS ANGELES — ‘‘Grey’s Anatomy,’’ the ABC hit show whose lead actor was criticized for using an anti-gay slur, was awarded outstanding individual episode Saturday by an organization that monitors depictions of gays and lesbians in the media.
