I watch the Oscars pre-show with friends on my sofa. It occurs to me again how hard it is to be a woman, every time my pal Maria Phelan, 28, says, "I hate that dress." ...
• Youre streak continues. You look awful, Cameron Diaz. Her hair looks terrible. Her skin looks terrible. Her dress is ugly.
• Lisa Ling? I don't like her dress either. Eighties prom dress. Maria likes all the Brits, like Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren. ("She picks age-appropriate but nice dresses.")
• One guy gets one shout-down, ABC cohost Chris Connelly: Who is that guy? Did he used to be on MTV?
