Jackie Earle Haley, the star of "Little Children," is having a big moment in his life. A long-shot for best supporting actor who was denied most critics prizes or even a Golden Globe nomination, he got a nice wake up call from Oscar. Haley says that his nomination in that category is a dream come true. "I feel like I'm dreaming. I almost can't believe what has been happening to me. I can't even believe I'm talking to the Chicago Sun-Times about being in this movie." ...
Humble? You bet. This guy was a teen actor who starred in 1976's "The Bad News Bears" and 1979's "Breaking Away," with an episode of "The Love Boat" in the mix. Then Hollywood forgot him, so he did odd jobs, including delivering pizza. Sean Penn helped bring him back to the big screen with a small role in "All the King's Men." Then he was cast as the child molester in "Little Children."
"It's a movie that grabs you, sucks you in and doesn't let you go for two hours," says Haley.
