Paris Hilton may have bowed out of her appearance at tonight's Billboard Music Awards, but Gwen Stefani is still scheduled to perform, along with a host of other artists, including Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, the Fray, the Killers andJanet Jackson — making her first major television performance since the infamous wardrobe malfunction.
Stefani also is planning a two-month North American tour in support of her second solo album, "The Sweet Escape." The tour will begin April 1 in Phoenix, with a local stop at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park on June 8.
Hilton canceled her appearance at the awards show because she didn't like the jokes written for her, according to her spokesman, Elliot Mintz. "Paris did not want to say anything that could appear hurtful or embarrassing about people she knows," Mintz said.
The 2006 Billboard Music Awards will air live, 7 p.m. on Fox, from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.
