Only because this is a Chicago-based blog: Check out this odd little news item about our homegirl Oprah. Apparently, even though she's a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and thus an Oscar voter, she is being allowed to voice her editorial support for certain movies on her show — despite Academy rules forbidding voters to do just that.
Also, from the same site, more Chicago homegirl news: Tina Fey will host the 59th annual Writers Guild of America Awards on Feb. 11.
