Chevrolet Stingray Concept

Chevy just launched what I think will be the most exciting car at the show: The Stingray Concept. This car will be a character in the new Transformers movie coming out this summer. Character name: Sideswipe.

The concept draws from the first Stingray, and specifically pays homage to the 1963 Split Window Corvette. Gone are the smooth Corvette curves, and in it's place are some incredibly hot edges.

Ed Welburn, GM VP of Global Design, says it's just a concept, but I have to say, I hope it's a heck of a lot more than that.

Click the play button below to see an interview with Welburn about the Stingray Concept.

this is about the new attitude of our country and this i think could be the best seller for corvette in a long while if they make this car available to the public in a couple years...this shows that we are still a strong force in the auto wars!!!!!

great car could set corvette ahead of the auto wars if made for the public this car shows the dream and determination of our society that we still set our goals high and go after them

this car amzing it looks sleek sporty and quite exspensive i think i could be they most amzing corvette i have ever laid eyes on but i want to see some specks on this thing speed engine type and if i was mass produced for special addtioned what would it go for

I say this. If GM puts out this car, it will not only renovate the American Spirit, but GM will put its mark again in the vehicle arena. The ZR1 was the beginning, I think that this concept will be tremendously popular, and will probably take the ZO6 spot.

I think that if GM will take this car put in a boosted ZR1 engine it will lift the American car industry, and give the U.S. some pride.
