When photos surfaced of his 3-month-old daughter at a Playboy party, Kelsey Grammer had an explanation.

Grammer, 57, says that, yes, he and wife Kayte, took baby Faith with them to the party.

In a statement sent to us by his rep, the Boss star says:

"Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us," said Grammer. "We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight."

TMZ posted a photo of Grammer's 3-month-old daughter, Faith, fast asleep in her baby carrier at Hef's Playboy Mansion this past weekend for the annual Halloween bash, "surrounded by hot chicks, booze ... and velvet," as the site put it.
