WBEZ is hosting the Chef Battle Royale tonight at 6pm at Salvage One, 1840 W. Hubbard St.

"The Morning Shift" host Tony Sarabia will lead a discussion with food bloggers and dining scene personalities while attendees sample Ethiopian food from Ras Dashen, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes from Tank Noodle, Polish food from Restaurant Staropolska, Puerto Rican specialties from Borinquen and vegetarian fare from Munch. Black Dog Gelato will also offer Goose Island root beer floats, and Intelligentsia and Goose Island Beer will be served. Tickets are $10 for students, $12 for WBEZ members and $15 for the general public.

And in another event, foodies from around Chicago share stories about their passion, while attendees get appetizers. Speakers of "EAT THIS! Stories for the Love of Food" will include Hot Doug's owner Doug Sohn and Cleetus Friedman of City Provisions. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
