Bailiwick Chicago Theater is hosting its "Chicago Casting Auction," where you can win the chance to be cast in their upcoming production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
More than 60 roles (including leading and major roles) will be up for bid on Oct. 27 at the Dank Haus German American Cultural Center Grand Ballroom, 4740 N. Western. Once you're "bid," you become a "Player," who must then win that role by getting enough bids from friends and supporters at the event. (Players may be asked to display their musical/acting talents).
The event will also feature live entertainment, food, an open bar, silent auction (for supporting and chorus roles) and professional photo booth. Tickets, $29 - $75, and complete rules and information, are available at www.castingauction.com. Doors open at 6 p.m. The live auction gets under way at 7 p.m.
Winners will sign up for five weeks of rehearsals culminating in a public production of "Joseph" Jan. 31, 2013-Feb. 2, 2013, at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont. Tickets go on sale Jan. 1, 2013 at www.castingauction.com.
